Zumbo's Willy Wonka hat trick trips up Queensland brickie
TONIGHT'S gravity-defying theme on Zumbo's Just Desserts didn't intimidate Noosaville's Michael Basset.
But the brickie's confidence was short-lived when he faced Adriano Zumbo's floating chocolate hat, which not only floated above the plate but also contained a savoury gobstopper and ice cream cone with churro ice cream.
Mr Basset found himself in the bottom two on tonight's show after his Flying Fruit Flan in round one was praised for its concept but his pastry was too thick and lacking in flavour.

The 51-year-old got off to a strong start in the three-hour elimination back-off but rushed through some steps in the recipe and ultimately mum Kate was victorious.
"I've had a great time," he said. "It's time to down the tools and follow my dream."
Mr Basset, who works as the maintenance manager for Endeavour Foundation prize homes on the Sunshine Coast, still hopes to one day open a dessert bar in Noosa.
Zumbo's Just Desserts continues on Monday at 7.30pm on Channel 7.
