X Factor evictee Adrien plans to release original music

KEEP an eye and ear out for original music from The X Factor's latest casualty Adrien Nookadu.

The 17-year-old from Sydney was eliminated from the reality singing show last night, but has plans to release his own songs on YouTube.

"These days YouTube is such an amazing way to get your music out," Nookadu told APN.

"If you search my name you find the stuff I have on YouTube at the moment, a couple of covers, but I'm hoping to release a lot of original music soon. I'll probably start with YouTube and once I get my fan base growing a bit more I might get a single or EP together."

The teen shares a YouTube channel (AdrienAndreTV) with his older brother Andre, his songwriting partner.

"He's a music producer," he said.

"We write all the time, sometimes with an artist in mind even if we can't get it to them (laughs).

"I really love the R&B/soul area; that's where I sit."

Nookadu was the first Under 25 Male act eliminated from the show, leaving mentor Natalie Bassingthwaighte with Tee and Dean Ray, both of whom he will be supporting when the Top 10 perform next week.

"I'm staying loyal to Team Nat," he said.

"Tee has a soulful, Motown, gospel voice and then Dane has this quirky, mysterious, ambient voice that captivates you."

Nookadu said travelling to New York to perform for Jennifer Lopez during the home visits round was a personal highlight.

"Travelling to New York for a start was just absolutely unreal, and the being able to perform a song I love to Jennifer Lopez was pretty crazy," he said.

"I never would have thought that would happen. It's been a crazy ride."

On Sunday the remaining singers will perform Top 10 hits by acts including Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Sam Smith.
