Women’s Day lunch a popular event

CELEBRATE International Women’s Day on Tuesday with the popular luncheon, hosted by the Ballina Chamber of Commerce, the Ballina Shire Council and the Office for Women.

Starting at midday and finishing at 3pm, the event will be held at the Ballina RSL Club.

The chamber’s executive officer, Nadia Eliott-Burgess, said it would be a great afternoon.

“We have an inspirational guest speaker, a sumptuous lunch, more networking time than ever before and live entertainment, along with a range of fantastic door prizes,” she said.

“This event attracted well over 200 women in the past and we look forward to growing the numbers again this year.

“Tickets will sell out at 350, so book early – sales close this Friday.”

International Women’s Day has now been going for 100 years.

It’s about celebrating what women have done, are doing and can do.

The theme for 2001 is “Resilience”. The Ballina lunch costs $45 and formalities will finish at 2pm for those who need to go back to work.

Tickets can be purchased in store from Scentalicious Perfume Boutique at 130 River Street, Ballina, or by phone from Ballina Chamber of Commerce on 6681 5049.
