Woman, boy charged over Gold Coast shootings

A WOMAN and a boy have been charged in relation to recent shooting incidents on the Gold Coast.

The pair were arrested by Gold Coast detectives at an address in Collingwood Park on Monday night

This follows the arrest of a 24-year-old man at Numinbah Valley on Sunday afternoon, August 28.

A 17-year old woman from Ormeau and a 16-year-old boy from Edens Landing have both been charged with with one count of discharge firearm and two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

They are due to face Southport Magistrates Court on September 12, 2016.

The charges come after a man allegedly terrorised the Gold Coast for five days, involving five shooting incidents.

He was arrested at the end of a five-hour lockdown of the Numinbah Valley.

Police, including PolAir, the dog squad, the Special Emergency Response Team and at least 40 armed police officers, were involved in the search for the 24-year-old.

The man is alleged to have been involved in  a terrifying crash and robbery in Carrara early Sunday and shooting incidents on the M1 at Coomera on Thursday night.
