Woman arrested for offensive behaviour, resisting police

BALLINA police have arrested a teenager for offensive behaviour.

Police allege that on Friday morning an 18-year-old Ballina woman approached people unknown to her and demanded money.

The victims allegedly refused to do so, and the woman threw a glass bottle at them and threatened to assault them.

Ballina police were notified of this incident and found the woman on River Street soon after.

She was still in a highly aggressive and abusive state.

She was placed under arrest and resisted the efforts of police.

After a scuffle the woman was taken to Ballina Police Station.

She has been charged with Affray, Offensive Behaviour and Resist Police.

She will appear in Ballina Local Court in August.
