Willie worried as Turner returns to firing line

RUGBY LEAGUE: Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire says every precaution will be taken before concussion-prone Kyle Turner plays against Manly tomorrow night.

Veteran Sea Eagles forward Willie Mason expressed genuine concern for 23-year-old Turner's health after he suffered his seventh concussion in two years when knocked out against Penrith last weekend.

It was his first game back since neck surgery in March.

"Boxers can't fight for three months after being knocked about, but we can go out and play the most ferocious, physical game in the world. The NRL has to take a good look at it," he said

Even wheelchair-bound former Newcastle forward Alex McKinnon came out publicly to urge Turner (pictured) to consider his future following so many head knocks.

Maguire said he had spoken to the club's doctors and Turner's parents, saying they were fully aware of the situation.
