Wikipedia says Tamara Smith won Ballina two days before poll

YOU know her as the Greens candidate for Ballina, but according to Wikipedia, Tamara Smith is already the Member for Ballina.

And if you thought Ms Smith might have been jumping the gun a little when she declared victory on Saturday night, that's nothing compared to whichever of her supporters authored the Wikipedia entry.

Far from waiting for anything as tedious as the completion of the count of the declaration of the poll, they've listed Ms Smith as ascending to her office on March 26 - two days before the election was even held!

The page was last edited today.

For the record, the count for Ballina is ongoing. ABC election analyst Antony Green is predicting Ms Smith will win the vote. However, Mr Green has also conceded to having had some significant problems with his count over the past day or so.

At this stage, the NSW Electoral Commission is offering no indicative preference count for Ballina.

On first preferences counted so far, it shows Nationals candidate Kris Beavis in the lead on 37%, followed by Ms Smith on 26%, and Labor's Paul Spooner on 25%.
