Warner under investigation after Twitter tirade

AUSTRALIAN cricketer David Warner is likely to face disciplinary action from Cricket Australia after it appears he launched a blistering and lengthy tirade on Twitter against two of the Australian media's longest-serving cricket writers.

Warner, who is playing in India's IPL, began his rant on his official Twitter account @davidwarner31 against News Ltd's Robert Craddock, who wrote a piece about corruption in the IPL.

Cricket Australia did not confirm or deny whether the tweets emanated from Warner's account, however a CA spokesman said general manager of team performance Pat Howard is trying to contact Warner and the player's manager.

CA is looking into its players' code of conduct and the spokesman said it would its take time to consider its next steps on this matter.

''Cricket Australia is aware of comments made on David Warner's twitter account overnight. Cricket Australia is attempting to contact Warner and will continue to investigate the matter. Cricket Australia will make further comment once it has conducted a thorough investigation."
