AN Automatic sensor is believed to have shut down Dreamworld's Giant Drop ride just hours after it was reopened.
Passengers were left stranded on the popular 119-metre tall ride for about five minutes, reports AAP.
Dreamworld's CEO Craig Davidson assured the park's patrons that the mishap was only a glitch after no fault was discovered.
"There will always be glitches, we see that on any amusement park in the world and we're no different," he said on Saturday.
"That ride is doing exactly what it was supposed to do and we have no concerns about that whatsoever."
The problem was poorly timed for the park as it deals with a marked drop in visitors after last year's Thunder River Rapids tragedy that killed four people.
So far only the Wipeout ride has yet to reopen after the park's temporary closure.
The most recent batch of rides to reopen were cleared after a major safety review.
The review included investigations by four different organisations: Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, Dreamworld's internal engineering review, Pitt & Sherry's independent review, and an external review by UK based theme park safety specialists, LTC.
Both Dreamworld and WhiteWater World have returned to normal operating hours now that the summer holiday period is over.
In addition to the rides reopening, Australia's first Lego store is set to open tomorrow, January 28.
