DARIO Vidosic has made a flying start to his career at Western Sydney, scoring what proved to be the winner in his team's 1-0 triumph over Perth at Pirtek Stadium.

The former Socceroo, making his starting debut for the red and black outfit, fired a low shot past former Wanderers goalkeeper Ante Covic nearing half-time.

It was a special afternoon for the Wanderers who celebrated the one-year anniversary of the club's famous Asian Champions League title triumph.

Wins have been few and far between since then, with the success against Perth being the team's first of the 2015/16 A-League campaign.

The Glory struggled to create much going forward, at times looking as though the players were saving their energy for Saturday night's FFA Cup final against the Melbourne Victory.

Wanderers defender Alberto Aguilar was forced off just before the hour mark after twinging a hamstring as he stretched out to make a tackle.
