VIDEO: Watch as passer-by pulls man from horror blaze
AN UNASSUMING passer-by has saved the life of a man trapped in a burning house, his heroic deed captured on video.
Beth Lederach was filming as the fire took over the home in the Californian town of Fresno.
"I was pretty shaken up about it," Lederach told the Fresno Bee.
"As I got out of the car, this woman came up with this baby and said, 'My dad is in there! My dad is in there!' I didn't know what to do. I felt so helpless."
A rescuer is spotted in the video walking towards the house at the 50-second mark.
Less than a minute later he appears running from the blaze with a man over his shoulder.
"He just calmly walked right in there and then came walking right back out with this guy," Ms Lederach said.
The man then just melted away with the crowd, unidentified.
Emergency services were at the house within five minutes and have so far not praised the rescuer.
A fire department spokesman said the man could have been seriously injured or killed.
It took 30 firefighters to put out the blaze.
