US paper hails All Blacks as legendary Aussie team
It SEEMS the All Blacks didn't leave a big impression on the American media following yesterday's 74-6 thrashing of the USA Eagles in Chicago.
65,000 fans watched the All Blacks romp home in a 12-try victory but local paper the Chicago Sun-Times is still not sure which country the men in black represent.
A standfirst in the newspaper's match report read 'Sell-out crowd watches legendary Aussie team dominate Americans'.
'Sell-out crowd'...tick, 'legendary'...correct, 'Aussie team'...wait a second.
What's the bigger crime? Calling the All Blacks Australian or labelling the Wallabies legendary?
The error appeared to be in the sub-editing process as the story itself was spot on, referring to the All Blacks as being from New Zealand.
My tweet on US newspaper calling the All Blacks a "legendary Aussie team" has gone viral - http://t.co/cwXJerCzqv pic.twitter.com/Fr5JcjmXFA”
