Unlicensed driver tests positive, found with ice in car

TWO Lismore women will face Lismore Local Court next month for drug and traffic offences.

Police will allege that yesterday afternoon they stopped a car occupied by two women in Goonellabah.

Checks on the driver's licence revealed that her licence was cancelled.

The driver then returned a positive roadside drug test reading for cannabis and methyl-amphetamine (ice).

Police then searched the passenger side of the vehicle.

They found found two small bags of methyl-amphetamine and a glass pipe used for smoking methyl-amphetamine.

The passenger was charged with Possess Prohibited Drug and Possess Implements to Administer a Prohibited Drug.

The driver will be charged for driving whilst cancelled.

A decision will be made in relation to her driving under the influence of methyl-amphetamine and cannabis once a secondary test is carried out.
