Two killed in separate crashes

TWO people have been killed in separate crashes at Coorabell and Tintenbar.

In the first tragedy, a 28-year-old Murwillumbah woman died when her car ran off the road and hit a tree on Coolamon Scenic Drive at Coorabell.

Police from the Tweed-Byron Local Area Command said they were called to the scene at 7.25am yesterday but believe the crash happened about 2.40am.

It appeared the woman had lost control of her Subaru station wagon on a sweeping left hand bend.

The woman was believed to have been the only person in the car at the time of the crash.

In a second tragedy, a cyclist was killed in an accident at Tintenbar yesterday morning.

No other details are currently available about the cyclist.

Police have said they are conducting inquiries into the causes of both deaths.
