Changed traffic conditions due to Pacific Hwy crash

UPDATE, 6.30PM: The Pacific Highway reopened this afternoon after being closed for most of the day following a truck crash in the early hours of the morning.

Motorists were diverted along the Old Pacific Highway approximately 11km south of Grafton for most of the day as crews worked to clean up debris from the crash which saw a truck plough over barriers at about 5am this morning.

Changed traffic conditions remain in place affecting northbound traffic including reduced speed limit to 60km/h and motorists are advised to allow extra travel time.

UPDATE, 2PM: The northbound lane of the Pacific Highway has now been close for more than nine hours following an early morning truck crash at Glenugie.

Motorists continue to be diverted via the Old Pacific Highway approximately 11km south of Grafton as RMS crews clean up the debris.

UPDATE, 11:00AM: The Pacific Highway remains closed as RMS crews continue to clean up the aftermath of this morning's truck crash. 

It is believed the truck was carrying frozen meat products.

A Transport Management Centre spokesperson said it was fortunate there wasn't any oncoming traffic during the time of the incident. 

UPDATE, 6:50AM: Police have confirmed this morning's truck crash was a single-vehicle incident with no fatalities.

Traffic diversions are in place.

Northbound motorists are being directed onto Parker Road, Wells Crossing and southbound motorists are being diverted to the Old Pacific Highway.

ORIGINAL STORY: LIVE Traffic NSW is reporting a truck has crashed on the Pacific Highway, Glenugie, approximately 11km south of Grafton.

The incident happened shortly after 5am this morning. 

The highway is closed in the northbound direction and emergency services are advising motorists to avoid the area. 

The truck was on fire earlier, but the flames have now been extinguished.
