Trending: baby bombshell and boy, 8, "Dirty Dancing"

CHANNEL 10's The Project presenter Carrie Bickmore hit the top of Facebook's trend list last week when she dropped a baby bombshell in the middle of the show.

While discussing a royal pregnancy, Ms Bickmore said: "Speaking of babies," she said. "I have some news for you tonight...I am having a baby."

The news took her co-hosts by surprise and sparked an outpouring of well wishes on social media.

Ms Bickmore already has one child, seven-year-old Oliver with her first husband Greg Lange, who sadly passed away in 2010 from a brain tumour.

The video of the quick-footed-youngster delivering the dance routine step-by-step went viral on social media this week after his mum posted the footage on Facebook.



Creepy clowns terrorise town

It didn't make Facebook or Twitter's trend lists but the story and photos of creepy clowns with smeared face paint and balloons chasing people late at night in the Californian city of Wasco, spread internationally across social media and news organisations.

It began with "wascoclown" posting pictures of himself in his nightmarish clown costume in public places late at night on Instagram and Facebook.



The photos quickly attracted thousands of followers on Instagram who shared the photos with other terrified/delighted people.
