Wendy Matthews, Rachel Beck to play Ballina wine & food fest

THIS year's Ballina Fine Wine and Food Festival will feature performances by the well-known Wendy Matthews and Rachel Beck.

Festival chairman Col Lee said: "We are extremely lucky to have the awesome talents of these two popular artists performing exclusively at our festival event."

Rachel, who grew up in Ballina Shire, is a multi-award winning actor, singer, dancer and entertainer.

She has appeared in numerous stage, television and concert productions including Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, Cats, Sound of Music and recently the hit production, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Her list of television credits includes Hey Dad, Home and Away, It Takes Two, Stingers and Flying Doctors.

Wendy Matthews has been performing all over the world for more than 30 years.

She has won numerous awards including seven ARIAs, had 19 hit singles and seven top-selling albums.

Rachael and Wendy will perform a repertoire of musical genres with influences from jazz, rock, blues, pop and ballads, delivered with grace and eloquence.

The Ballina Fine Food and Wine Festival will be held on July 12 at the all-weather Ballina Jockey Club.

Tickets to the over-18s event cost $20, but won't be on sale until May 11.

The festival kicks off on July 10 with the Taste of Ballina Gala Dinner. The festivities continue on July 11 with the Flavours of Northern Rivers Gourmet Tour.
