Titans to debut 3 star recruits

JOHN Cartwright today named three star recruits to make their official Gold Coast Titans debuts in Saturday night's round 1 clash against the North Queensland Cowboys at Dairy Farmers Stadium.

The Titans coach selected Jamal Idris, Nate Myles and Luke Douglas to play their first matches for the club against the Cowboys in what is a new-look side to kick-start 2012.

Two men who starred for Tweed Heads Seagulls in last year's Queensland Cup, Dom Peyroux and Kayne Lawton, are among the players listed in the 18-man squad.

Gold Coast-born Jordan Rankin, 20, has been named in the much-discussed five-eighth spot in what will mark his 10th NRL appearance - William Zillman was selected at fullback.

Lawton, 22, a Tweed Coast Raiders junior, and last year's NRL Rookie of the Year Matt Srama, 21, are expected to share the hooking duties with Lawton in the run-on side.

The Gold Coast Titans first grade squad:

1 William Zillman 2 Steve Michaels 3 Jamal Idris 4 Dominique Peyroux 5 David Mead 6 Jordan Rankin 7 Scott Prince (c) 8 Luke Bailey 9 Kayne Lawton 10 Nate Myles 11 Greg Bird 12 Mark Minichiello 13 Ashley Harrison. Interchange: 14 Luke Douglas 15 Matthew White 16 Ben Ridge 17 Matthew Srama 18 Luke O'Dwyer
