
Thief breaks and enters into region's council chambers
RICHMOND Valley Council premises were broken into early on Saturday morning in Casino.
The event happened around 2:30am.
Entry was gained to the building by someone smashing an office window at the rear of building with a outdoor timber chair.
The offender has then climbed through this broken window and entered several offices.
Alarms were activated and police and security were on the scene soon after.
The incident was caught on CCTV and the man is described as an Aboriginal male with short dark hair, thin to medium build and of an average height.
He was seen to be wearing a black cap, black jacket/jumper, dark blue jeans and was carrying a black shoulder bag.
The extent of the stolen property is still being determined.
CCTV is being reviewed, and forensic procedures have been carried out.
