Teen terror suspect kept in custody

A MELBOURNE teenager charged with involvement in a "well advanced" terrorist bomb plot has been remanded in custody.

The 17-year-old said nothing during his brief appearance in a Melbourne children's court.

Police allege the boy, who was arrested during a raid on his family home in a Melbourne suburb on Friday and cannot be named, was planning to target a public event.

Police allegedly found improvised explosives at the Greenvale house.

There was no application for bail, and he was remanded to reappear on May 26.
