Teen burned down shed, broke into store three times: cops

A CASINO teenager has been charged with arson and allegedly breaking into a business three times in 10 days.

Lismore police acting Inspector Rob Hindle said the 15-year-old, who can't be named for legal reasons, was arrested at Casino last Friday and taken to Casino police station where he was charged with three counts of break and enter and malicious damage by fire.

Act Insp Hindle said the first offence was an alleged arson attack on a shed at a residence on Carrington Ln on October 11 that caused more than $10,000 damage.

"The whole shed was engulfed in flames and completely destroyed by the blaze," he said.

Act Insp Hindle said police allege the teen broke into Creighton's General Store on Centre St, three times in 10 days.

On October 21, it is alleged the teen stole cigarettes, food items and a plasma television.

The on October 25 it is alleged the teen stole cash and on October 31 he allegedly stole food and drinks.

The teenager was granted conditional bail to appear in Casino Children's Court on December 3.
