Teen allegedly bashes woman as she refuses to be robbed

A TEENAGER is bound for the courtroom after allegedly bashing a female store owner after she refused to give in to his demands for cash.

Police believe that at 7.15pm on Wednesday night, the 16-year-old allegedly walked into a store in the Brisbane suburb of Zillmere and demanded the owner hand over $100.

When she refused she was "punched numerous times", according to police.

The teen then left the store, before again returning to again attack the woman, police say.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene.

Police soon arrested a 16-year-old and charged him with with attempted armed robbery with violence and assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is scheduled to appear in the Pine Rivers Childrens Court.
