AFL: Brisbane midfielder Lewis Taylor is hoping to rekindle the form that won him the 2014 NAB Rising Star award.

The 21-year-old struggled to match his award-winning efforts last year and was dropped at one stage.

He was also involved in protracted contract negotiations but eventually signed a new three-year deal in August.

He now says he just wants to concentrate on getting victories for the Lions after overcoming those tough times.

"To tell you the truth, it's just about wins for me,” he told

"It's all about winning games now.

"I don't really care about individual success any more, it's about doing things for the team and trying to win.

"If we can have a few more wins than last year it'd be a good result.”

Taylor said last season was a difficult one for the entire club.

"The losses aren't great, but you've got to push through,” he said.

"Hopefully this year we can turn it around for ourselves and our fans.”
