Stranger approaches girl, boys in separate incidents

POLICE are reminding parents to know where their children are at all times are after a girl and two boys were approached in two separate incidents by a man at Coraki last week.

Inspector Doug Connors said police believe the same man was involved in both incidents.

"A 12-year-old girl was approached around 7.45am Tuesday while waiting for a bus on Queen Elizabeth Dr at Coraki," he said.

Insp Connors said in the second incident the man approached two boys on Thursday.

"About 3.15pm on Thursday two young boys aged eight and six were approached in Bridge St."

"On both occasions the man has called out to the children to 'Come over here', indicating to come toward the vehicle he was in."

Insp Connors said the man did not leave his car - described as a small white sedan that was dirty.

The man is described as being about 40 years old with short brown hair and a medium build.

Insp Connors said parents should discuss child safety strategies with their children.
