Tahs fall late to Bulls
THE Bulls snatched victory from New South Wales in the shadows of full-time, winning 27-24 at Sydney Football Stadium.
The Waratahs led 24-20 with less than three minutes on the clock when the Bulls scored the winning try from Werner Kruger after gaining vital field position from a five-metre scrum on their feed.
The Bulls scored three tries in total, while the Waratahs crossed twice through Rob Horne and Atieli Pakalani, helping the hosts snare a bonus point.
Prop Kruger rolled over beneath a pile of players to plant the ball over the line and secure the Bulls' eighth victory of the season, cementing top spot in the South African conference.
"It's always tough coming to Sydney," Bulls captain Pierre Spies said. "We had to fight it out to the end. I'm very proud of the team.
