Swans must stick together, says Franklin
HE was on the wrong end of the scoreboard in 2012 when Hawthorn lost the grand final to Sydney, and again this year when the Swans suffered a shattering 63-point loss to the Hawks.
Seemingly the only Sydney player anyone wanted to talk about in the lead-up to the grand final, former Hawk superstar Buddy Franklin did his part by kicking four goals and taking five contested marks. But speaking at a low-key function in Melbourne yesterday, the $10 million man (pictured) said that counted for nothing.
"I've lost two of them now; it's a bad feeling but we've got to stick together as a football club," he said.
"What we put up yesterday (Saturday) wasn't on, but we'll be better as a football club for this.
"We'll learn a lot - there is a lot of improvement still to come … We're going to look forward to a good pre-season and get everything right we can."
