Suns celebrate re-signing of young talent Dion Prestia

THE good news for the Gold Coast Suns yesterday was that young gun Dion Prestia decided against returning to Victoria, re-signing with the club until the end of the 2016 season.

The 20-year-old midfielder, taken at No.9 in the 2010 national draft, has played 40 senior games for the club and has been in outstanding form in recent weeks.

The bad news, however, was that small forward Brandon Matera needs surgery on the ankle he injured against Geelong on Saturday night and will be out indefinitely.

Charlie Dixon (ankle) and Karmichael Hunt (hamstring) could return through the reserves this week.
