Sunday Night ratings flop lands Corby in hot water again

SCHAPELLE Corby's Sunday Night episode has been a ratings failure for Seven - and now it could have the convicted drug smuggler sent back to prison.

The much-promoted show managed to attract just over a million viewers across metropolitan markets, well behind My Kitchen Rules and the Block.

In fact, it only managed seventh in the ratings, behind shows like 60 Minutes, both Seven and Nine news, and crime drama Fat Tony.

Seven was unable to bring an interview with Corby herself, instead showing an interview with her sister, Mercedes, which has reportedly angered Indonesian officials.

News Corp reported Indonesian Justice Minister Amir Syamsuddin as saying there was a chance Corby's parole will be reviewed as a result of the program.

Mercedes' claims, in the interview, that Corby is innocent and that the marijuana in her bag could have come from Indonesia, sparked huge debate and disquiet in political and judicial circles.

It has also been reported that Corby has finally left the Seminyak villa where she had been holed up with Channel Seven and gone to the Kuta home of her borther-in-law's family.

During the show, Mercedes Corby called claims she and her Indonesian husband were dealing drugs from their Bali surf shop as "rumours".

She also spoke of Schapelle's mental health struggles while in prison, describing her at her lowest point as a "zombie".

"We had to hand feed her for months," Mercedes said.

"She couldn't speak. She was like a zombie walking to and from her room."
