Stormers unfazed as they face champion Waratahs

THE Stormers will go into Saturday night's clash against the Waratahs at Allianz Stadium with plenty of confidence they can beat the reigning Super Rugby champions.

The South African franchise put up a spirited showing away to the Hurricanes last Friday night, losing 25-20 to the team that is undefeated in seven games.

The Stormers have a 4-3 record, while the Waratahs are 4-2.

The Stormers have lost both games on their Australasian trip, also going down to the Highlanders 39-21, with games against the Waratahs and Force remaining.

"I've never tasted victory in Australia. It's a challenge I look forward to," Stormers halfback Nic Groom (pictured) told the iamastormer.com website.

"We will obviously miss (squad captain) Duane Vermeulen (who is back in South Africa to rest), but we could still possibly field an all-Springbok loose trio."
