A FATHER and son who pleaded guilty to murder after sparking a major manhunt across two states will face a sentencing hearing today.

Fugitives Gino Stocco and his son Mark appeared in Dubbo Court in June, pleading guilty to one count each of murder and destroying property by fire. The pair were on the run for eight years, wanted over alleged property offences in Queensland.

They were arrested in NSW at Pinevale, near Dubbo, and later charged with murdering Italian-born caretaker Rosario Cimone, 68, whose body was discovered in a shallow grave on the property.

The pair face a sentence hearing in the NSW Supreme Court later today.
