Small increase to pensions coming later this month

PENSIONERS can expect a small increase in their government payments later this month, with single aged pensioners to get up to $11.50 extra each fortnight.

The standard six-monthly increases to pensions will also add an extra $17.40 for aged pensioner couples.

It will also give those on the Newstart Allowance, parenting payment partnered, widow allowance and sickness allowance an extra $5.20 a fortnight for singles and $4.70 for couples.
