A 6-4 6-4 victory over Maria Sharapova in the French Open has taken Serena Williams to within two Grand Slam titles of the record of 18 held by Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova.
And despite being 31, it would take a brave person to suggest Williams could not set a new mark sometime in the next 15 months.
After all, she is 92-5 over the past 14 months, during which time she has won three Grand Slams and two Olympic gold medals.
"It's the only one I hadn't won more than one of. Now I have multiple titles at every major, singles and doubles, so I'm really pumped," Williams said.
