LATEST: Relief as Natalya, 9, found safe in bushland

RELIEF is being felt throughout the Raleigh community after early reports nine year-old girl Natalya Franklin has been found safe and well.

Natalya was located by searchers in bushland near her home, suffering minor injuries from a suspected fall.

She was returned home where she was treated by Ambulance Paramedics for minor injuries.

Police have asked for thanks to go out to SES officers, the public and the media for their assistance in the search.

10.45am: COMMUNITY response to the search for a missing nine year-old girl from Raleigh has been almost overwhelming.

Police have reportedly had to turn back some volunteers due to the fact too many helpers could possibly clog up the search area which has the potential of making the search more difficult. 

10.30am: LOCAL police with the assistance of SES officers, dog squad, police divers, Marine Area Command, and PolAir are currently conducting an extensive search of the surrounding area for Natalya.

Commander of the Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command, Supt. Mark Holohan, will address the media at 11.30am.

6.00am: POLICE are appealing for public to help to locate a girl missing from her family property.

Nine-year-old Natalya Franklin was last seen about 10.30am on Thursday at her rural home on Northbank Rd, Raleigh after speaking with her siblings.

Natalya's parents alerted police when she left the house, about 20kms south of Coffs Harbour, and failed to return.

Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command and SES officers initiated a search at the home and surrounding properties, however Natalya has not been seen since.

Police and Natalya's family are concerned for her welfare as her disappearance is out of character.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a fair complexion, long light-brown hair, brown eyes, about 145cm tall and of thin build.

Natalya was last seen wearing bright pink shorts, a peach-coloured t-shirt, no shoes.

Police and SES officers will recommence the search for Natalya this morning.
