Search for woman who assisted injured in serious crash

POLICE are appealing for information to locate a woman who stopped to assist the driver of a car injured in a serious crash at Wardell.

On Saturday October 31 about 5pm, a silver Holden Astra sedan and a silver Volkswagen Transporter collided head-on, east of Wardell on River Rd.

Both drivers were seriously injured in the crash.

A number of people stopped to render assistance to both drivers before emergency services arrived.

Officers from the Far North Coast Crash Investigation Unit are particulary interested in talking to a couple who helped the driver of the Holden Astra.

The woman is described as being between 30 and 40 years-old, of a medium build with medium to long blonde hair.

She was described as being of Caucasian appearance but she spoke with a slight accent.

There was no description given of the man.
