Search continues for man who abducted baby boy

THE search for an abducted baby boy is continuing in Sydney's west after the eight-week-old and his teenage mother were taken from their home at knife-point overnight.

A 24-year-old man forced his way into the Chester Hill house about 8.30pm and led the 16-year-old girl and her infant son to his car.

The man later assaulted the teenage girl before leaving her at a park on the Hume Hwy and driving away with her son still in the back seat.

Police discovered the car at Bargo early Friday but there was no sign of the man or baby.

A child abduction alert has been issued.

The man is described as Caucasian, between 165-175cm tall with a thin build, brown hair and tattoos on his arms and chest.

He was last seen wearing a blue jumper and green track pants.

Anyone who sees the man should call 000.
