Seahorses in impressive win

THE Ballina Seahorses put on an excellent display of possession football to outclass Lismore Workers with a 3-nil victory in Football Far North Coast in Lismore last Saturday.
Ballina created several early chances, with inform midfielder Shannon Matjettski grabbing the first goal 15 minutes into the game with a deftly placed shot from inside the corner of the box.
Ballina continued to dominate and Cerys Hawkins smashed a blistering free kick into the far post to consolidate the lead.
The one-way traffic continued in the second half with Blake Astley scoring a well-deserved goal after mesmerising the opposition on numerous occasions.
Workers regrouped late in the game and put the Ballina defence under consistent pressure, however, the score remained unchanged at the final whistle.
The entire Seahorses outfit played well and coach Troy Percival is pleased with the combinations that the players are developing.
The Ballina reserves were less composed and were defeated 3-1.
Next week Ballina will host local rivals Bangalow at Saunders Oval, kick-off at 3pm.
This promises to be an exciting tussle.
