Schools in Ballina and Byron revitalised over summer

MORE than $475,000 has been spent on revitalising schools within the Ballina and Byron Shires over the school holidays, Nationals Candidate for Ballina Kris Beavis has revealed.

"The capital works program delivered over the summer holidays means that learning is not disrupted, and that our schools are ready to go for an improved and upgraded year of education," Mr Beavis said.

"It has been a big ask, but it is things like this that make school a more welcoming learning environment.

"I know how important having great schools is to families in the Ballina electorate - should I be elected, I will fight to make sure our schools are in a position to provide the best learning environment for our kids.

"Our students should be in an environment that is conducive to learning - it's as simple as that.

"As part of this program, even our smallest schools like Durrumbul Public School and Teven-Tintenbar Public School received a makeover.

"The completed projects range from external ground maintenance to repainting and general repairs."
