Scans to reveal extent of Dugan knee damage

A SICKENING collision with South's George Burgess in the Charity Shield match at WIN Stadium on Saturday night has left St George Illawarra fullback Josh Dugan with a suspected medial ligament strain.

The injury could leave the star (pictured) out for four to six weeks, with scans today to confirm the damage.

The Blues custodian, whose left knee became trapped under Burgess as the Rabbitohs giant scored the last of his team's seven tries, was fitted with a brace before leaving WIN Stadium.

"It is always disappointing when you see high-profile footballers go down but that is the game we play and it's just the way it is," Dragons coach Steve Price said.

Greg Inglis threw a scare into the Rabbitohs' camp after he was forced from the field with a jaw injury, but he later said he was okay.

Roosters centre Michael Jennings became the first player to score a hat-trick of tries in a World Club Challenge match, during his team's 36-14 win over Wigan.
