Berg Engineering celebrates safety milestone

MORE than 40 staff gathered at the Gladstone Marina on Sunday morning to celebrate Berg Engineering's milestone.

Under Terry Lutteral's new management, the company has reached two years lost time injury free.

Workplace health and safety officer Janette Baynton said the company hadn't had this kind of achievement in many years.

"Last year at the one-year mark was the first time we'd reached a solid year of lost time injury free," she said.

"We celebrated big last year and now the staff are striving to push it further to the third year."

And no one could be more proud than general manager Terry Lutteral.

Mr Lutteral said including the staff in the family fun day celebration was because the company was all about providing a safe workplace to protect the families of the workers.

"At the end of the day it's about coming to work, enjoying it safely and going home to your loved ones," he said.

For such a hands-on organisation, the two-year achievement comes as a huge feat.

The day was celebrated with a barbecue and a jumping castle for the Berg Engineering kids.
