Rookie Lingmerth surprises with lead at Sawgrass

TOUR rookie David Lingmerth was a surprise leader at the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass after a weather-interrupted third round.

The diminutive Swede was on 12-under after 17 holes when darkness stopped play, two clear of a group of three including Tiger Woods.

Greg Chalmers and Marc Leishman were the best-placed Aussies on 7-under.
