Roma's so hot, they're frying eggs on the street

THE mercury is on its way up in Roma.

Temperatures were forecast to hit 42 degrees today, and show no sign of dropping.

Highs between 41 and 43 are predicted all weekend and early next week.

To see how hot it really is, we tried cooking an egg on the road.

It may have taken a little while, but it got there in the end.

Out on the hot streets of Roma, that egg was well and truly fried.
