Roar's win over Adelaide dampened by injuries
DESPITE showing indifferent form for most of the season, the Roar is now just one win away from a third-straight grand final.
The Brisbane outfit prevailed 2-1 over Adelaide at Hindmarsh Stadium last night, but the win was dampened with Jack Hingert, Luke Brattan and Thomas Broich all leaving the field with injuries.
The Roar got its first goal in spectacular fashion courtesy of a Brattan long-range strike after 28 minutes.
Brattan's effort, his first A-League goal, saw him latch on to an outswinging Broich corner.
But it came due to Cassio making a horrendous error at the back, failing to dispatch a straightforward clearance.
Adelaide matched it with the visitors for much of the first half, by the Roar found itself up 2-0 in the second minute of injury time in the first half.
Good lead-up work by Mitch Nichols saw Ivan Franjic meet his cross, sending it low and to the right.
The Reds pegged back a goal courtesy of Dario Vidosic smashing home a Marcelo Carrusca cross after 88 minutes.
Adelaide almost equalised three minutes later through an angled Tomi Juric shot which was snuffed out by a one-handed Michael Theo save.
The Roar now plays Premier's Plate winners Western Sydney Wanderers in Sydney on Friday for a spot in the grand final.
