IT WILL be all-out attack on the Gold Coast tonight as Brisbane Roar looks to salvage a place in the knockout stages of the Asian Champions League.
The Roar needs to win by at least two goals at Cbus Super Stadium against J-League leaders Urawa Red Diamonds and hope Suwon Samsung downs Beijing Guoan in South Korea.
A draw will see both Beijing and Suwon through and with both games being played simultaneously, Roar coach Frans Thijssen knows it will be a difficult task.
"It's very clear what we have to do," he said. "We have to win the game and then look at other results.
"Hopefully, Suwong can help us and get a win. But we have to focus on what we are doing. We have to score at least two goals and that's not easy knowing we have to do that from the start."
Midfielder Luke Brattan said while the team had to have an attacking mindset, the players had to also be wary of not being caught out defensively to stand any chance of progressing.
"We have some great attacking players and we will look to score goals but at the same time we still have to be tight at the back. We have to be smart defensively and not let them pass," he said.
Thijssen said his side must put the disappointment of Friday night's Hyundai A-League elimination final loss to Adelaide United behind it.
The Roar will be without left back Corey Brown, who is suspended after receiving his second yellow card of the tournament in the 1-0 over Beijing.
The coach would not reveal who would take Brown's place, but was hoping they would not be needed.
"I know the person who will come in," he said. "But I don't want to say as we have to win the game and I don't want to give the opposition any advantage.
"I hope we don't have to defend too much anyway.
"I want us to be in their half for most of the game and scoring goals."
In tonight's other ACL clash, defending champion Western Sydney Wanderers also faces a tough task to get through to the next stage.
The Wanderers must beat Evergrande in Japan and hope Kashima Antlers draw with FC Seoul to go through.
And they will have to do it without striker Kerem Bulut, defender Yusuke Tanaka and midfielder Kearyn Baccus due to suspension.
