Discovery of small tools stops work on hardware mega-store

LISMORE City Council stopped work on the Masters Home Improvement Store site after two small tools, possibly Aboriginal relics, were found.

"It's prudent to stop work while we get some further archaeological work done on the remainder of the site. It is expected work will commence again in about one week," a council representative said.

The two tools that have been found are fenced off and preserved in situ while consultation with the Aboriginal monitors is undertaken.
