Reds coach confident of success in South Africa
REDS prop Ben Daley is flying home to Brisbane for scans on his right knee after being forced off the ground early in Saturday night's 35-20 loss to the unbeaten Sharks in Durban.
The Queenslanders take on the Lions in Johannesburg on Saturday - the South Africans will be buoyed by their 39-36 win over the Blues at Ellis Park at the weekend, their first victory over the Aucklanders since 2006.
Reds coach Richard Graham said he was confident his side could return home with a win after fighting back strongly in the second half against the Sharks.
"The score at half-time was challenging, but we composed ourselves and got back to 28-20," he said.
"At that point the game was where we should have gone on with it. We had a couple of opportunities that we didn't capitalise on."
The Sharks and defending champions the Chiefs are the only unbeaten sides after week five, after the Waratahs had their colours lowered 28-23 by the Brumbies in Canberra.
Despite playing with at least one man down for most of the last 20 minutes, the Brumbies were able to hang on to beat the Tahs who came from 20-9 down at half-time to trail by just two points with six minutes left before a Nic White penalty sealed the win.
Meanwhile the Western Force, which finished against the Highlanders in Dunedin with 13 men, held on for a 31-29 win, its first back-to-back Super Rugby victory since April 2011.
