NEWCASTLE Knights back-rower Beau Scott admitted he was nervous about not only facing his old club the Dragons on Saturday night, but coming back earlier than expected from a groin injury.

Scott surprised Knights fans by taking the field for a total of 28 minutes against St George Illawarra, but he was training well before that game, running strongly and getting involved in heavy contact work.

"It was a little bit nerve-racking. I was just waiting to take the field and get out there and test myself, and make sure that everything was right," he said.

"I'm very glad I did that, and I can move on to next week with a bit more confidence under my belt."
