Rapana warned by NRL after two-finger salute

RUGBY LEAGUE: Jordan Rapana has been 'fingered' by the NRL for his offensive gesture to referees during Canberra's opening-round loss to North Queensland.

The Raiders winger was issued with a concerning act notice after raising both middle fingers at officials.

But the New Zealand international has avoided an appearance at the judiciary, and therefore any threat of suspension.

Rapana gave the two-finger salute after a try by teammate Elliott Whitehead in extra-time was disallowed when referees ruled a lead-up pass was forward.

In a bad-tempered match, Rapana's right side partner Joey Leilua avoided suspension for throwing a punch at Cooper but was fined $1500.
