Qld teacher still suspended after hitting on teen student

A TEACHER who sent a ­female Year 12 student flirtatious emails, then sent her love ­messages after she graduated, will remain under suspension.

The teacher, a head of department at his Queensland school, told the former student that he had been sexually aroused when they had classes together, a tribunal heard.

His registration was suspended by Queensland College of Teachers in January, on the basis that he posed an ­unacceptable risk of harm to children.

The former student, who said she initially had a slight crush on her teacher, complained after becoming "very shocked and upset'' by the ­escalation of his emails and messages.

Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal heard the young woman reported the behaviour partly out of concern the teacher would do something similar with other students.
