QLD Reds sign James O'Conner and Karmichael Hunt

THE Queensland Reds have confirmed the signings of former Wallaby flier James O'Connor and former rugby league international and Gold Coast Suns AFL player Karmichael Hunt for 2015 and beyond.

The announcement was made at the Queensland Rugby Union's Gala black tie ball attended by several hundred guests in Brisbane tonight.

Reds coach Richard Graham said the sigings created high expectations next year.

He said he expected Hunt would make the transition across to rugby union having played the game at high school and  also in France for a short spell before switching from League AFL.

The Reds had a disappointing Super Rugby campaign finishing fourth in their pool and near the bottom overall.
