Preschool's day made in shade Northern Star's marquee comp
ALSTONVILLE Community Preschool has battled through tough times since Alstonville Baptist Community Preschool shut down late last year.
But a welcome windfall has put a grin on the faces of the preschool's volunteers, who are working out of temporary premises at Wardell Rd, Alstonville.
The preschool won The Northern Star's competition for a new marquee, sponsored by Summerland Credit Union.
The preschool's president, Katherine Buckley, said the preschool's tight-knit community was thrilled.
"The marquee will assist greatly. At the moment, with summer being so hot, it'll be great for shade and our community fundraising events," she said.
Summerland's business development officer Belinda Cordery was pleased to present the prize to a community organisation.
The Northern Star's general manager Philip Clynes described the marquee as proof of The Northern Star's commitment to its community.
